About Me

A little about me

I was born in Portugal, but my life took its first defining turn when my parents moved to Germany while I was still a year old.
I completed my primary school there, carrying a different accent, a different cultural background, and a natural tendency to feel deeply for those who were disadvantaged or overlooked.
Instead of being embraced, these differences made me a target. I was bullied for how I spoke, how I thought, and for caring too much.
Most of my childhood was spent alone or with one or two close friends who understood me.
At eleven, I returned to Portugal and completed secondary school.
The bullying followed me — this time for my commitment to equality, respect, and defending those who couldn’t defend themselves. My early years in Germany earned me the painful nickname “Hitler,” an ignorant label that isolated me even further. Yet through all of this, my sense of justice, empathy, and compassion never faded.
In adulthood, I walked many paths: refrigeration engineer, bricklayer, agricultural worker, insurance employee, bank cashier and treasurer, hotel receptionist, and owner of an orthopaedics shop. Each role shaped me, taught me, and added another layer to my understanding of people and the world.
I also spent almost two years in the Portuguese Army, serving with NATO troops — an experience that strengthened my discipline, resilience, and sense of responsibility.
It also exposed me to the harsh reality of how power can be misused, and how easily the weakest can become targets of injustice.
That awareness deepened my commitment to fairness and to standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
It was only when I opened my health club and began serving others as a personal trainer and masseur that I discovered my true purpose.
Supporting people in their physical and emotional wellbeing awakened something in me. I realised that to help others meaningfully, I needed to continue investing in myself — growing as a professional and evolving as a human being. My journey and theirs were intertwined.
A few years after making a move into sales, I made a decisive choice: I resigned and committed myself to becoming a nurse. From that moment on, my path became clear.
I was here to serve.
Working for almost two decades in oncology and rare diseases transformed my understanding of life. I witnessed courage, fragility, hope, and the raw truth of human existence.
I learned that life is not about accumulating possessions or building empires. It is about connection. It is about kindness. It is about showing up for others when they need it most.
Life becomes meaningful when we share what we have, when we help where we can, and when we choose to be of service.
Helping others is my main goal in life. It is the thread that runs through every chapter of my story.
Over many years of studying, observing, and learning, I gathered a wide range of exercises, techniques, and insights that profoundly transformed the direction of my life. By bringing all this knowledge together, I created a personal development program, stepped into motivational speaking, and committed myself to sharing these tools with those who have forgotten that we all hold the power to become the owners and builders of our own fate.
My mission is to help people reconnect with their inner strength, challenge their limitations, and step into the life they are capable of creating.
Today, as a Nurse Clinical Trainer, Mindset Coach, Motivational Speaker, and Founder of Ingenium – Mindset Matters, I bring all these experiences together.
My work is grounded in science‑based principles, human compassion, and a lifelong commitment to making the world fairer, kinder, and more conscious — one person at a time.
